About Henry Churniavsky

Henry (Churnavsky) Churney, has always had an interest in comedy. Over the years he wrote some comedy scripts but only started doing stand up in late 2014.

His debut as a stand up came after doing a comedy course with Sam Avery at Radio City. The first gig was at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool. No not on the main stage but in a small room beneath the main stage but he was hooked! Henry enjoyed the occasion but did not get back onto the stage until January 2015, thanks to Hoo Ha Comedy.

Since Jan 2015 Henry has now done 150 plus gigs around the UK especially in North West.

Henry has done various charity gigs raising money for Alzheimer’s, CALM & Victims of the Manchester Arena.

2016 & 2017 he has done stand up in Florida/ Amsterdam

2017 – Edinburgh Fringe show 2 Religions 1 Comedy Show with Joe Bains

2018 – now produced an hour solo show

In September 2015 Henry with his friend Tim Grey @ Espresso Plus (Liverpool) opened a monthly comedy night (3rd Tuesday of the month) called CUE Comedy (Comedy’s Ultimate Experience)

Henry has introduced many new and old comics to a very appreciative and growing audiences at Espresso Plus, Rose lane, Liverpool. Not only has he been fine tuning his act but he has turned his hand at being MC.

Henry opens the venue to anyone who wants to have a go and also been known to hand over the MC to many who want to try their hand at being a compare.

CUE Comedy has been raising funds for 2 charities Alzheimer’s Society and CALM with the help and support of many local companies.

BAY TV Liverpool came to a CUE Comedy night recently and did a piece on the comedy (see clip) thanks to Shaun Troke at BAY TV.

In Dec 15 Henry was interviewed by Ben Turner for FAB Radio re his early interest in comedy, how he got involved in comedy and CUE Comedy.

Henry has already in 2016 been asked to open new gigs which will give local and further afield comics a chance to come along and entertain crowds.

  • Henry is …Cheeky, Sharp, Up-to-date and very like able.

Dave Appleton (Albion Comedy Club 2016)
  • I had a great time... didn't get the jokes.

    Nat Churney Hertfordshire
  • If he was in a tribute band it'd be called Right Said Fed and his sharp observations will no doubt leave countless audiences deeply dippy and demanding more

    Ben Turner
  • Cue comedy. Friendly atmosphere. Great host. Come along, have a laugh, support great charities.

    Stephen Cookson
  • Henry was kind enough to do opening night of my comedy night in Wigan. Henry has a warm relaxed style and had the audience laughing along. Henry deserves to be seen by a much wider audience.”

John Fitzpatrick (Raven Comedy Club 2016)
  • I put Henry on my South Florida comedy show not knowing what I’m going to get. I was floored. Henry and his comedy both broke a barrier and spoke to a bar full of American millennials and cynics and got laughs even from the toughest audience member. I cannot wait to cross the pond and see more of his act.”

Noam Manor (10th Floor Tavern, Florida USA 2016)
  • Henry is a true one of a kind comedian, and thank g-d, don’t know if we could handle two of him! What else can I say other than he’s a sort of like Russell Brand but funny and likeable.

Damien Figler (Degenerate Comedy, Florida USA 2017)
